The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a specialized unit that provides high-acuity care to critically ill pediatric patients.

The unit is equipped with 11 beds, configured to accommodate:

  • 3 High Dependency beds for patients requiring close monitoring and intensive life-sustaining interventions, such as mechanical ventilation, vasopressor support, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
  • 8 Low Dependency beds for patients who require less intensive monitoring and support, but still need close observation and care for conditions such as acute illness, post-operative recovery, or chronic disease management.

The PICU is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of pediatric intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals who work together to provide high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill children and adolescents.
